Carbon Hill Sanitary Sewer Improvements


Sealed bids will be received by the HOCKING COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, 1 EAST MAIN STREET, LOGAN, OH 43138 at its offices until 9:30 A.M. on August 2, 2018 , and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter for the “CARBON HILL SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS”.

The Project work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment in accordance with the contract documents. Project cost estimate is $2,560,000.00 .

Board of Elections Voting Information and Hours

Monday April 9th Last day to register to vote for the May 8th Primary Election.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Tuesday April 10th Early/Absentee Voting begins in the BOE Office.

New office hours from Tuesday April 10th through Friday April 27th are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

April 30th to May 4th 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Saturday May 5th 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Public Hearings Regarding Additional Sales and Use Tax

Hocking County Board of Commissioners will be holding the first of two public hearings regarding the implementation of an additional sales and use tax of one-quarter of 1%.  This tax applies to retail sales subject to the State of Ohio sales tax.  The tax will be implemented as an emergency measure not subject to a referendum.

Prosecutor assists local businesses collect payment with new ‘bad check’ policy

In an effort to assist local businesses who receive bad checks that bounce, Hocking County Prosecutor Kyle C. Henderson is working towards educating business owners on how to protect themselves in order to minimize the likelihood of becoming a victim of crime, as well as learn about the steps needed to be taken for a successful prosecution against an offender.
